Purchased Artboard (for MAC) this morning after playing with the trial version yesterday afternoon. Have not had much success with free/cheap art programs for MAC like I have had with Windows. Will see where this goes.

Image uses some of the program’s clipart, which I usually avoid. So here is the ‘see what it does’ first canvas. I could not post the image to the art blog without ‘squishing’ so am posting it here first to see if that will allow a URL to facilitate posting there…

Not so sure yet about how resolution copies–it does not look as clean as the original, though I exported to PNG at 300 dpi. Am learning that computer design can be worked so that a move to the print medium is possible: in the main, however, I still believe that a new art is/will result from a new medium: indie artists at large are not going to learn the differences between the two media that will allow the transfer to the print medium. The result will be (and is) a new art form, and one that is limited to the medium created in (the computer).

How that figures in with loss of resolution from proprietary beginnings to exported image is part of the learning curve. Am working on a post that explores these ideas. After all, art ends up in museums.

You see where I am going…

Have been working with this idea for some time; finding out that computer designs can be tweaked does not necessitate that indie artists at large tweak…

Stay tuned for further thought on idea.
