Friskies Mock-up Spec Final.png

Text and images ©2016 Valerie Freer. Speculative ad copy for print magazine 8.5 x 11 inches full bleed (spec copy is not print-readied for this size publication). Model is Mai Thai, a Siamese version of a domestic short-hair, who purrfully eats Friskies every day.

Copy follows:

And You Feed Her Friskies Because…

She sleeps with her eyes open because she loves you. She whimpers like a lost kitten when you pick her up because she doesn’t want to snarl, even when she’s thinking, oh no, you’re trying to involve her in the day again.

The day is later. It is evening, in your world, but she is up and running, fearlessly leaping through the air as if she were a bird, snapping the corner of your bed without stopping–she’s already half way back to the other room.

Then there she is back again, flawlessly hitting the corner of the mattress in her cat like a bird circle, then pell mell off into the wild through your kitchen and into your living room again.

She can do that because you feed her Friskies.

You know it’s good for her. But in her language Friskies means brave, strong and powerful.

Friskies means roar.
